Strep Throat Consultation

Strep throat is a bacterial infection that affects the throat and tonsils. It is caused by the bacteria Streptococcus pyogenes. Strep throat is more common in children than adults, but can occur in people of any age.

Symptoms of strep throat include sore throat, fever, swollen lymph nodes in the neck, and difficulty swallowing. Other symptoms may include red and swollen tonsils, small red spots on the roof of the mouth, and a headache.

Antibiotics (Z-pak, Amoxicillin, Augmentin, Cefuroxime, Cefdinir)
